No Coding™ Technology

A Simple Win

You and your healthcare team rely on your blood glucose readings to manage your diabetes. When it comes to testing your blood glucose, accuracy is key. And the fewer steps it takes to reach accurate results, the better. Bayer’s No Coding™ technology ensures that the correct code is automatically set any time a new test strip or 10-test disc is inserted – so there are fewer steps and less chance of inaccurate results due to a miscoded meter. Unlike meters that need to be manually calibrated to ensure accurate results, Bayer's CONTOUR™, CONTOUR™TS, and BREEZE™2 meters all feature No Coding™ technology.

What is Calibration (Coding)?

Blood glucose test strips vary from lot to lot and the meter has to be set up to match each lot. This process is known as calibration (or coding).

Blood glucose meters can be calibrated in different ways. For accuracy of blood glucose test results, some blood glucose meters need to be calibrated manually. Usually this is done by inserting a code strip or entering a code number into the meter. This coding needs to be repeated every time a new box of test strips is opened.

Bayer's CONTOUR™, CONTOUR™TS, CONTOUR™ PRO, CONTOUR™ LINK, and BREEZE™2 meters have No Coding™ technology, so you never need to manually enter a code or a code chip.

Why Does Calibration Matter?

Failure to enter the correct calibration code or to change the chip with each new batch of test strips may cause an incorrect reading.
