Alan Main President, Bayer Medical Care
Alan Main has responsibility for the Bayer HealthCare (BHC) family of medical device companies that includes Bayer Diabetes Care and MEDRAD, Inc. He was appointed President, Bayer Medical Care; President, Bayer Diabetes Care; Executive Vice President, Bayer HealthCare and to the BHC Executive Committee in July 2010. He also chairs the BHC Marketing Excellence Council, a cross-business initiative to improve marketing effectiveness, and is an executive sponsor for the Women's Leadership Initiative which aims to increase female representation in top management as part of BHC's goal to increase diversity. Alan is also on the Board of AdvaMed, a global trade group comprised of leaders of medical device companies. Before joining Bayer Medical Care, Alan was Bayer HealthCare Consumer Care's Division Head of Region Europe comprising the western and eastern European countries, the Middle East and Africa, since February 2008. Before that, he was Division Head of Region Asia/Pacific where he was responsible for Commercial Operations and for developing important growth markets in the Far East. With more than 25 years of experience in health care, Alan has held various positions in marketing and management. He joined Bayer in January 2005 following the acquisition of Roche’s Consumer Health business. Before the acquisition, he was Roche Consumer Health's Head of Region International comprising Asia/Pacific, Russia, Turkey, the Middle East and Africa and a member of the Leadership Team. He first joined Roche in 1992 as part of the Consumer Health business in the United Kingdom and then progressed to various positions of increasing responsibility in the UK, South Africa and Hong Kong. Prior to joining Roche, Alan worked for Stafford-Miller (now Glaxo SmithKline) and Merrell-Dow (now Sanofi-Aventis). Alan studied International Marketing at Thames Polytechnic where he earned a BA (with honors). He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketers in the United Kingdom.

Olivier Jarry Chief Operating Officer, Bayer Diabetes Care
Olivier Jarry is Chief Operating Officer for Bayer Diabetes Care. Olivier assumed this role in July, 2009.
Olivier joined Bayer from Novartis where his career spanned eight years and during which time he developed an extensive and diverse international and functional background -- including profit and loss (P&L) responsibility in each of the four major regions of the world. He was most recently Head of Novartis' Vaccine division in Western/Eastern Europe, Russia, CIS where he led the division to tremendous growth. Prior to that, Olivier was Head of Novartis' India Rural Business in healthcare, a for-profit initiative to improve access to medicines in rural areas while partnering with local health educators and non-governmental organizations. He also led strategy, business development & licensing for the company's Gerber baby food brand in Asia Pacific and served as General Manager for their Latin America Consumer Health business. Prior to Novartis, Olivier worked for Danone in France and in the US where he developed their beverage and imported good businesses.
Olivier began his career with Accenture working with various companies throughout the globe to define their strategy and improve their operations. He holds an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering and Business Administration from Ecole Centrale de Paris and an MBA from the TRIUM Global Executive MBA program.

Jon Achenbaum Senior Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer
Jon Achenbaum joined Bayer HealthCare, Diabetes Care as Global Chief Marketing Officer in February 2006. Late in 2006 he was given the additional responsibility to lead the Latin American Commercial Operations for the Diabetes Care division. In his role as Global Chief Marketing Officer, Jon is responsible for leading product management, brand strategy, marketing communications, eMarketing, competitive intelligence, customer and market insight, packaging and design, and medical marketing.
Jon's background includes nine years with Unilever in several roles, including Senior Vice President of Global Skin Innovation, General Manager of the North American Hair and Oral Care businesses as well as President of Lever Ponds in Canada. Prior to Unilever, Jon worked for Helene Curtis in Brand Management, Business Development and Marketing Resources. He began his career at Quaker Oats and Pillsbury.
Jon holds a BA from Skidmore College and studied at New York University's Graduate School of Business.

Jennifer Farr Vice President, Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs
Jennifer Farr is Vice President, Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs for Bayer Medical Care, a division of Bayer HealthCare which includes Bayer Diabetes Care and MEDRAD, Inc. She was appointed to this role in June 2010. Previously, Jennifer was Vice President, Program Management in Bayer Diabetes Care's global R&D department since May 2008. In this role, she was responsible for leading the new product development activities to support the Diabetes Care portfolio in achieving growth and profitability targets. Most recently, under Jennifer's leadership, Program Management has contributed to the development of new breakthrough products across the blood glucose monitoring, A1C and software businesses while also continuing to manage BDC's R&D pipeline. Jennifer has 20 years of R&D experience at Bayer: first joining the company's former Miles division as an Assistant Research Scientist in 1990 and then progressing to positions of increasing management responsibility including Manager, R&D Excellence and Director, Program Management. Jennifer is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a B.S. in Chemistry. She is also a Certified Professional Coach from the International Coaching Academy, Melbourne, Australia.

Suzanne Grey Vice President, Strategic Alliances
Suzanne Grey joined Bayer Diabetes Care in January 2010 as Vice President, Strategic Alliances. In this role, she is responsible for leading negotiations and executing Bayer Diabetes Care’s existing alliances with outside partners while also identifying and addressing critical issues to enhance BDC's alliance strategy. Sue also manages the transition and renegotiation of all alliance agreements as needed and manages related budgets and planning activities. She brings a dedicated management focus to managing and maximizing the value of BDC's current alliance portfolio to ensure that alliances continue to help the organization attain its objectives. Sue also serves as Chief of Staff for Diabetes Care's Senior Management Team (SMT) and helps plan and track BDC's management priorities and coordinates various strategic projects. She has years of proven success in managing strategic alliances with third parties from the US, Canada, and Asia to drive innovation. Prior to joining Bayer, Sue held various strategy, marketing and planning positions at large public companies including Pitney Bowes and Computer Associates. Most recently Sue was Senior Vice President at Bowne & Co., Inc., where she was responsible for strategy, product planning, marketing and corporate development. Sue received a B.A. in philosophy and mathematics from Wells College in Aurora, NY, where she also serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Wayne A. Krampel Vice President, Global Product Supply
Wayne A. Krampel joined Bayer HealthCare Product Supply organization and Diabetes Care in June 2008 as Vice President for Global Product Supply for Diabetes Care. Wayne brings an impressive record of accomplishment in supply chain management, having held leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson, Federal Express and Medtronic. Most recently, Wayne held the position of Vice President for Supply Chain Management at Johnson and Johnson's Cordis Corp, a manufacturer of vascular technology with $4 billion in annual global sales.
At FedEx, Wayne was responsible for the entire supply chain services product portfolio, as well as the outsourced services strategy for the company. Wayne has extensive experience in the development and execution of comprehensive supply chain strategies designed to influence customer service levels, market demand, and market share.
Wayne began his career in professional services consulting with positions at Ernst and Young, Accenture and Mercer where he specialized in supply chain management. He is on the Board of the University of Michigan's Supply Chain Master's program and a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. Wayne holds a degree in business from Cornell University.

Michael Mathews Head, North America
Michael Mathews joined Bayer Diabetes Care in June 2010 as Head, North America. In this role, he is responsible for planning, organizing and leading the development, implementation and evaluation of all sales, marketing and distribution for new and existing Diabetes Care products in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico in order to achieve sales, profit and supply chain objectives. Mike has over 20 years experience at Bayer HealthCare. He began his Bayer career in the Consumer Products Division in Monheim, Germany and then progressed to a number of senior management roles in marketing and sales, brand development and management, consumer relations and regulatory affairs in Germany, Brazil and the US. Mike was most recently Therapeutic Area Head for Hematology and Global Brand Team Kogenate, in Bayer's Specialty Medicine business unit, where he delivered increased sales/profitability and expanded market share for the global brand. He graduated from Georgetown University with a BS in International Economics, Finance and Commerce and has an MBA in Marketing from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).

Laura Mezey Vice President and Assistant General Counsel
Laura Mezey is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Bayer HealthCare LLC, and has been a member of Diabetes Care management team since June 2004. Prior her current position, she was Assistant General Counsel for Bayer HealthCare LLC. Laura began her career at Bayer as Senior Counsel at Bayer HealthCare's Diagnostics Division, supporting the Self Testing Segment and Self Test business of the U.S. branch.
Prior to joining Bayer, Laura was a Legal Director at Schering-Plough Corporation, where she supported both the consumer care and prescription drug businesses.
Her professional career began in 1988, when she joined the Wall Street law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel, specializing in litigation.
Laura received a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Head, Europe-MERA
Roberto Parotelli Head, Europe-MERA
Roberto Parotelli was appointed Head of the International Region for Diabetes Care on June 1, 2004. This Region comprises the European countries and Japan, and, in this role, Mr. Parotelli is responsible for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for the business.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Parotelli was BGR for the Diagnostics Division, based in Fernwald, Germany, and before that, he served as BGR for Italy, based in Milan, from 1997 to 2002.
Mr. Parotelli began his career with Bayer in 1975 as Production Manager for the Allergy Unit in Milan, and, in 1985, he became Business Unit Manager for Allergy. In 1990, he joined the Pharmaceutical International Marketing Group in Leverkusen as Product Manager for Nisoldipin. In 1992, he became Sales Manager for the Pharmaceutical Division in Milan, Italy, and the following year, he became Sales and Marketing Manager for Bayer Pharma's Cardiovascular and Anti-Infectives Division.
Mr. Parotelli received a Diploma and Doctorate in Physics from the University of Milan.

Myra Rosen Head of Global Human Resources, Diabetes Care
Myra Rosen joined Bayer Diabetes Care in early 2006 and was appointed a member of the Senior Management Team in July 2009. Myra is responsible for leading global human resources initiatives for Diabetes Care’s employees worldwide. Prior to joining Bayer, Myra was President of her own company, MLR Coaching, Inc. As a Leadership Coach and Management Consultant for five years she supported high performing corporate executives in Fortune 100 companies and small businesses to maximize their personal leadership and organizational effectiveness. Previous corporate experience included 10 years at Medco Health Solutions, Inc., a former subsidiary of Merck and Co., Inc., as a Senior Director, Human Resources where she led teams of business partners and provided senior human resources/internal coaching support to all Corporate business units. Earlier in her career she gained HR experience at Saks Fifth Avenue, at their corporate office in New York City, and at Worldwide Insurance Group, a property and casualty insurance company in St. Louis, Missouri. Myra earned her B.A. degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Business Management from the State University of New York at Albany. She was professionally trained by Corporate Coach U International, one of the largest and most comprehensive training programs for coaches. She is an active member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), the International Coach Federation, and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Michael Schwartz Vice President, Global Business Planning and Administration
Michael Schwartz was appointed Vice President, Global Business Planning and Administration on April 1, 2009. In this role, Michael has global responsibility for finance for Diabetes Care.
Michael has nearly 20 years experience with Bayer. Prior to joining Diabetes Care, he was Head of Finance & Controlling with Bayer HealthCare (BHC) Central Administration & Organization in Leverkusen, Germany, where had responsibility for Controlling, Risk Management, Commercial Evaluation, and Transfer Pricing. He also had functional responsibility for BHC platforms in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Since joining Bayer in 1990, Michael has focused on Controlling and Accounting but has also worked in Marketing, New Business and Sales at BHC mainly within the Consumer Care division. He also spent some years within the Bayer AG Holding and his global experience includes seven years in assignments in China and Indonesia.
After completion of a commercial apprenticeship at Bayer, Michael attended Cologne University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

Lynne de Sherbinin Vice President, Global Human Resources
Lynne de Sherbinin is Vice President, Global Human Resources for Bayer HealthCare's Medical Care division that includes Bayer Diabetes Care and MEDRAD, Inc. Lynne began her career in Human Resources at North American Philips Corporation (Philips Electronics) in 1979. She joined Bayer in 1988 as a Human Resources Representative at Miles Labs and was promoted to Manager, Human Resources for the Diagnostics Division in 1992. Lynne left Bayer in 1996 and became Director, Human Resources, for Moore Business Forms (Lake Forest, IL), with responsibility for 1000 sales and marketing employees on the east coast. She returned to Bayer in 1998, when she relocated to Bayer AG Headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany, working in the Pharma organization and subsequently in the Diagnostics Division's Dublin, Ireland, facility. She moved back to the U.S. in spring of 2003, and became head of HR for Diabetes Care in 2004 and then Vice President, Global Human Resources for the Medical Care Division in 2009. Lynne has a B.A. in Education from The Defiance College (Defiance, OH). She is a local and national member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

David A. Simmons, M.D. Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
In his role as Vice President, Chief Medical Officer for Bayer Healthcare, Diabetes Care, David Simmons is responsible for translating the medical context in which the company's products are used, supporting medical education activities required for market development, providing clinical perspective on business development opportunities, and leading clinical trial development that supports regulatory approval and commercial success of the brand.
David has more than thirty years of experience in research, patient care, and education in the field of diabetes and related disorders. Prior to joining Bayer, he spent eight years with Pfizer as Medical Director and Senior Director. He was Team Leader for Exubera® and was responsible for the U.S. product launch, including providing medical marketing support to the U.S. commercial team, and maintaining alignment with the Worldwide and R & D diabetes teams. Prior to his industry career, David spent sixteen years on the faculty in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism of the Department of Medicine, and as Staff Physician at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
David has an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, trained in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, and a fellowship in diabetes care and research at the George S. Cox Institute in Pennsylvania.

Richard (Rick) Stadterman Vice President, Global Research & Development
Rick Stadterman joined Bayer HealthCare, Diabetes Care in 2005 as Head of Global R&D. In this role, he is responsible for developing and commercializing the right mix of products in the Diabetes Care portfolio and finding the best way to bring them to market as quickly as possible — leveraging the company's core competencies in ways to enhance marketplace success.
Prior to joining Bayer, Rick was Senior Vice President, Research & Development, Callaway Golf Company, Inc., Carlsbad, CA, responsible for managing a $30 million product development budget to generate new products for the company. While at Callaway, he initiated training and incorporation of a Six Sigma culture within the R&D team. For three years, Rick was Director, Global Engineering, Schick Wilkinson Sword Division, Pfizer Company, Milford, CT, responsible for the worldwide engineering leadership in the company's shaving products business. Prior to Schick, Rick held positions at several divisions of GE. He began his career as a Research Engineer at Dow Chemical Company, Midland, MI in 1975.
Rick is a Chemical Engineering graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA and an MBA graduate from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA.

Julie Tay Head, Asia
Julie Tay was appointed Region Head, Bayer Diabetes Care Asia, on March 1, 2010. This Region consists of five subregions: Japan, China, India, Korea and Central and South East Asia. Based in Singapore, Julie is responsible for leading the regional organization by managing sales, marketing and operations in order to achieve financial objectives. Julie has a wealth of Marketing and Commercial General Management experience after more than 20 years with Johnson & Johnson and Johnson Diversey. Her experience includes 15 years with J&J Medical where she was instrumental in starting Lifescan’s franchise in the region. As Regional Franchise Director, Julie led the team to achieve market leadership in China and India by 2005. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology & Political Science) from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from Curtin University of Technology, Australia.
